Today we had a patient who came in complaining of a fish bone stuck in her throat. In the initial throat examination, Doc was unable to visualize the bone.
After using a laryngoscope, he had better visualization and was able to identify the fish bone and he removed it within a few seconds.
If a fish bone which gets stuck in the throat is not removed, it may pose a risk of tissue tear/injury, infection, abscess and severe swelling. Patients may cough out blood ( in case of tissue tear) or have pain during swallowing .Antibiotics alone won't be sufficient. The foreign body has to be removed .
When the root cause of the problem is solved, the patient gets better.

Had this young handsome boy coming in 2 months ago with dry, itchy and red skin.
Today he came back for his follow up and skin has cleared up well. Kudos to both parents for complying with the treatment protocol.

Another cutie got better.
This child had experienced multiple episodes of flare ups since 3 months old. Mother felt it was like a roller coaster 🎢 ride due to recurrent flare ups which has disturbed both the child's sleep including the mothers.
Baby's skin has stabilized now and both baby and mummy have been experiencing good sleep 😴.
